Microserv connects directly to multiple tier 1 Internet backbone networks in Denver, Salt Lake, Cheyenne, and Boise. By connecting to multiple backbone networks, Microserv can route Internet traffic faster, and through shorter network paths. This multi-homing also provides us with redundant connectivity in the event that one or more Internet backbone networks has difficulty. We also have local peering agreements and connections with serveral other organizations and Internet Service Providers in the State. This provides our users with fast connections to many local resources including Idaho State Government sites, State Universities and Schools, and the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory (INEEL). This allows Microserv to keep local Internet traffic fast, and avoid routing local network traffic accross the country. Top-Quality Hardware and Facilities Microserv's connectivilty is complimented by state of the art network and server hardware housed in Microserv's Network Operations Center (NOC) in Idaho Falls. This facility houses our servers, key routers, and network monitoring equiptment. We use the best network server equiptment available. Our router hardware consists of 7200 series and 7100 series Cisco routers utilizing the BGP routing protocol. We use 3Com/US Robotics and Lucent/Livingston modems with x2, K56flex, and V.90 56k support. We use redundant Sun Ultra Unix servers, and multi-processor Intel-based NT servers. | Wireless | | Microserv was the first provider to offer wireless T-1 Internet access in the region. We began testing wireless service in 1997. We installed our first customer serveral months after that. We continue to provide the best and most innovative wireless solution in the West. Microserv has built an expensive spread spectrum backbone throughout Eastern Idaho. Microserv provides wireless service in Idaho Falls, Rigby, Rexburg, Pocatello, Shelly, Driggs, and Salmon.
